Southern California Stem Carnival (SCSC) makes learning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) engaging for students. Students will gain a concrete understanding of STEM through hands-on activities. Each module is California Next Generation Science Standards (CA NGSS) based and designed to give students a functional understanding of abstract concepts such as momentum, acceleration, force, gravity, and friction etc. SCSC will inspire learners to ask “how” and develop solutions to real world challenges that require engineering, science, technology, and mathematic ability to solve. Each SCSC activity is engaging, building upon student’s prior knowledge and experiences while incorporating visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile learning modalities. Our activities will not only enrich students’ lives, but also improve their engagement, love of the sciences, and test scores.
